Laura Currie

Laura is a recent graduate from Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) and has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise. Her studies incorporated many rigorous science courses that allowed her to gain knowledge in a wide array of areas related to health sciences and human wellness. In addition to her studies, she was involved in extracurricular activities including student athletic training, instructing fitness classes, and personal training while at Virginia Tech; she obtained her personal training certification through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) in 2013. Since her graduation in 2014, Laura has worked as a Certified Personal Trainer for two locations in Woodbridge including the Sport and Health Club, and at the Four Seasons Community fitness center. Between the two locations, she has gained experience in working with several different types of people within a vast age range of 15 years old up to 75 years old. Laura has simultaneously worked for the INOVA Physical Therapy Center, during which she has gained experience various rehabilitation exercise techniques.

Prior to her time at Virginia Tech, Laura was the goal keeper for the Gar-Field High School varsity soccer team for four years as well for as her travel soccer team with PWSI Courage for seven years. She has always had a passion for fitness and sports, and with all of her various experiences in the health and exercise field, she enjoys putting her  knowledge into practice by specializing in strength and conditioning, endurance training, weight loss, and nutrition guidance. She is a positive person who likes to make sure her exercise programs are challenging while being fun and rewarding! Laura believes anything is possible with a little hard work and perseverance, and at the end of the day she can leave happy as long as everyone walks away with a smile!
